All children are poets in the making. This book opens the door to writing for them, inviting children to develop their own unique voice, to celebrate life’s unexpected treasures and to follow the unpredictable path of creative inspiration…

The drawings by Joanna Boillat (in black and white with traces of red) draw the reader in further on the journey of discovery around words and their mysteries. This poetry collection is Thierry Cazals’ sixth book with Editions Møtus and is meant as a hommage, for children, of Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet.

Thierry Cazals is a gifted poet and a true connaisseur of Japanese poetry. Following up on Le petit cul tout blanc du lièvre (A prize winner at the Cabourg book fair) illustrated by Zaü, L’ enfant qui avait peur du silence and Mon ami Merlin, this is his sixth book with Møtus. His books have also been published by Sarbacane, La renarde rouge, L’ Iroli…

Joanna Boillat graduated from L’École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris after studying art in Warsaw. She then worked for twenty years as a designer for Pierre Cardin and has always continued to paint and show her work in galleries in France and abroad. She then wanted to explore what it was like to illustrate stories written by others, leading her to publish books with Thierry Magnier, Gautier-Languereau, Gründ, Flies, Hong-Fei…The String’s Little Voice is her fifth collaboration with Møtus.
