“LEA”, THE TRUE STORY OF A LITTLE DOG WHO OVERCOMES ALL BARRIERS.
A NOVEL BY ANGELO DI LIBERTO, FOUNDER OF THE “MODUS LEGENDI” INITIATIVE AND THE COMMUNITY OF CONSCIOUS READERS “BILLY, IL VIZIO DI LEGGERE – IL GRUPPO”.
“A dog with a difference who brings joy back to life. Lea who saves, saves herself, saves us”.
Costanza Rizzacasa d’Orsogna (journalist)
Lea is not a dog like the others: she has the power to tint the world with heart-warming colours. This is what happens when it enters the life of the old schoolteacher Gertrude and Marco, a young boy, who at nine years old says his first word thanks to the dog. But one evening, everything changes: Lea finds herself caught in a net and bundled into a van. A man with dark, menacing eyes wants to train it to race dogs for illegal bets. From then on, all the little dog can do is run, run, run, relentlessly, to the point of exhaustion, with the sole hope of one day finding her two friends…
“Marco looked into Lea’s eyes. The little dog tilted itsr head first to the right and then to the left, and he did the same. The boy stretched out his hand and held it out to her. The little dog stopped trembling and licked it. The child didn’t move, he seemed almost hypnotised, then he smiled as he had never smiled before.”
