Manceau Édouard
Ever since he was a boy, Édouard Manceau has loved one thing above all else: telling stories. To his neighbors, to children he meets on his many travels, and also… in books! Click Clack, his first book with Benjamins Media, proved to be a revelation in its coupling of sounds and pictures. It seemed to delight the ears of young readers as well. A new adventure with the team at Benjamins Media seemed like a no-brainer. The result? Pompoms!
In the course of his wanderings, Manceau had a life-changing encounter with Anwar Hussain in Jaipur, the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Since then, the pair have become fast friends—almost brothers, even—and collaborated.
In 2014, Manceau won the Libbylit magazine prize from the International Board on Books for Young People, and in 2015, the Prix Sorcières, an annual French children’s literature award. He continues to joyfully communicate his passion for books to elementary schoolers and fiddle with words and pictures to give rise to new stories.
