Komai Véronique

Véronique Komai was born in Belgium in a house full of children and books. Always a fan of children’s literature, she would come up with stories for her students when she was a kindergarten teacher. An avid traveler, she spent over a decade in Japan, where she discovered that aestheticism was held in high cultural esteem, down to the smallest details of everyday life. Now back in Europe, she shares her enthusiasm for refinement and the variety of traditional Japanese papers, using them in the illustrations for her picture books.
