Godeleine de Rosamel

I was born in Lille in 1968. I’ve always loved drawing.

I went on to study art at Brussels’ School of Graphic Research (ERG), and then became an illustrator.

In 2001, I moved to Los Angeles, where I continued to illustrate children’s books while also getting back to my other childhood love—pottery.

Gradually, ceramics overtook illustration, but I still get a thrill from drawing, and I hope to combine both artistic practices in some coheerent way someday soon.

Meanwhile, I appreciate how both drawing and cermaics are “low-tech” tools that afford simple, accessible paths to creation, and continue to find animals and nature in general an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
