Barroux
Born in Paris, Barroux spent most of his childhood in northern Africa.
Upon returning to France, after several years of art school, Barroux became an artistic director for publicity agencies. Several years later, he flew the nest and set up in Canada, then in the United States, and began a brilliant career as an illustrator for the press and for youth literature. He has worked for numerous magazines, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Forbes, and he has published several works for children, notably with Viking Pengujn Books.
Spurred on by the taste of colours and of fantasy, Barroux works on his illustrations in a traditional manner, blending linoleum engraving, graphite, acrylic…
Mr Jeans’ Giant Cherry received the Enfantaisie Prize in 2005. Extraordinary Pets, published by Blue Apple Books, won the Golden Awards 2011 New York Book Fair.
