Attiogbé Magali

Magali Attiogbé was born to a nurse and a singer, living in Togo before moving to France.
Of her time in Africa, she retained a passion for motifs and color, pursuing a path that led her from large-format work to painting and illustration.
Since settling in Paris in 2000, she has been a busy bee, working on projects as varied as press illustrations, posters, and picture books.
In her studio in Paris’ 19th arrondissement, she dances, dreams, draws, paints, cuts and pastes paper, salvaging and recycling images to reinvent whole worlds. She enjoys creating naive and exotic atmospheres, like the painter Henri “Douanier” Rousseau. Each new project is a wonderful invitation to a voyage for herself and, she hopes, her readers.
