Balandras Elodie
After studying visual art at Lyon’s École Emile Cohl, Elodie set up shop as an author, illustrator, and graphic designer in Haute Savoie.
Her training naturally led her to children’s books, but also communications. She tailors her graphic techniques to each project entrusted to her, using pencils, paints, collage, montage, and even digital coloring. Her confidence and artistic freedom have led to the most unusual experiments, like live drawing performances, or developing more personal projects like comics reportage and exhibits with games based on her picture books.
She devotes a large part of her time to public appearances at schools, libraries, and community spaces.
In 2013, she was awarded the Prix des Incorruptibles, a children’s literature prize voted on by young readers, for her illustrations in the book Les poulets guerriers [The Chicken Warriors] and also received a writer’s grant from the Centre National du Livre for her travel notebooks concerning adolescence and disability.
